John Michael is a professional photographer, military historian, and published author living in the Washington DC area, who combines his unique and creative photography with history and heraldry of the US military.\u00a0\u00a0And is the author of an outstanding selection of books about history, military, and soon Arlington National Cemetery.<\/p>\n

His featured work was the photography of the final honors<\/strong> at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and preparing a memorial book for the family or next of kin.\u00a0 These memorial books are truly one-of-a-kind \u2014 \u00a0a family heirloom and can be passed down among future generations.<\/p>\n

A military funeral is an emotionally moving event \u2013 respectful and dignified \u2013 and at Arlington National Cemetery it is executed with precision unlike none other \u2013 and in this case, the 3d Infantry Regiment of the US Army provides full military support at ANC.<\/p>\n

The 3d Infantry Regiment is also known as \u201cThe Old Guard\u201d is also the ESCORT TO THE PRESIDENT<\/p>\n

Among his works is \u2013 a milestone \u2013 a first-ever calendar produced about the OLD GUARD \u2013 \u00a03d Infantry regiment published in 2009 and another in 2010.\u00a0 They now are collectors’ items since there were less than 100 produced.<\/p>\n

The calendar has spawned a set of 13 Notecards that complement John Michael\u2019s ever-growing product offerings \u2013 from photographic prints, to note cards to posters to greeting cards to coffee mugs all are available within this website \u2013 in a Product Store<\/a><\/p>\n

On 13 JUNE 2011 John Michael made groundbreaking history, (a hallmark of his accomplishments!) when after two and a half years of research, he published his first book:\u00a0 Images of America – Fort Myer.\u00a0 It is the first book<\/strong> ever written about this historic US Army post with origins during the Civil War when it was known as Fort Whipple.\u00a0 \u00a0And here over one hundred fifty years later it is still doing what it was designed to do – Protect the Capital City of Washington DC.<\/p>\n
