When one hears or sees the words “Buffalo Soldiers”\u00a0 visions of black cavalry soldiers mounted on their horses in pursuit of Indians into the western United States. Those visions are about to be expanded because in reality there were more than cavalry. several infantry regiments were Buffalo Soldiers in the United States Army that most people have forgotten. Again a mostly unknown fact is that Fort Myer<\/a> welcomed the Buffalo Soldiers twice<\/a>.\u00a0 \u00a0Major General Guy Vernor Henry<\/a> brought the 9th Cavalry to Fort Myer in 1891.\u00a0 The 10th Cavalry\u00a0 Squadron K, Machine Gun Troop was stationed at Fort Myer from 1930 until 1949.<\/div>\n
