Major General Victor Joseph Hugo Jr was a warrior, a soldier, my mentor, and most of all… my friend.\u00a0 It was his belief in me and the work I was doing that convinced him to introduce me to the then “Colonel of the Regiment” MG Donald\u00a0 C. Hilbert, USA (RET.).\u00a0 That meeting expanded my mission to include working and walking among the US Army’s oldest infantry regiment – the 3d infantry regiment – “The Old Guard” and much more<\/a>, such as a published author!\u00a0 Thank you, General Hugo!<\/p>\n General Hugo, a West Point graduate, class of 1954, passed away at the age of 89 on 11 MAY 2020.
